History

In years past, members of the Love family fell in love with members of the Bridges family and those persons were joined in holy matrimony.

Prior to 1992, there were a number of reunions in these families, the Bridges side and the Love side, as follows:

The Bridges - South; Bridges - North; Love-Bankston-South; Stephens-Love - South; Love - North.

In the late 1980's, the Love - North and Bridges - North, merged their reunions.

In 1993, the Bridges and Loves attempted to merge the entire Love and Bridges families; thus we have the

LOVE-BRIDGES FAMILY REUNION

We salute our family members, and we ask that each one of us encourage, support and love another.

The Bridges' Family History

In doing research and communicating throughout the family in many cities, the Bridges family began in 1818 with Candy Stokes, who was Native American.  Her tribe is unknown.  Candy Stokes was the mother of Cornelia "Neelie" Stokes.

Cornelia "Neelie" Stokes met Harry Bridges, who was born in Coweta County 1847.  The married, and to this union, 11 children were born.

The Love's Family History

The recorded history of the "Love" family began with Patrick Love, a farm laborer.  Patrick was born in Virginia in 1818. Love brought him and a young lady together named Uriah.  Miss Uriah was born in 1825.  There is no recorded history of Uriah's family.

Patrick and Uriah were married and to this blessed union 11 wonderful babies were born.  Their names were: Isaiah, Fannie, Ben, Eloise, Henry, John, Jeremiah (called Jerry), Peter, David, Sarah and Creasy.  The descendants of  all of Patrick's and Uriah's children are not known.  However, we have gathered some information on the decendants of their male offsprings.
